Our top priority at the Louisiana Center for the Blind (LCB) is the safety and well-being of the individuals we serve.

Since January 2021, the Board of Directors and staff of LCB have cooperated fully with the independent investigation of the NFB Special Committee.  We have thoroughly reviewed the final report of the Special Committee and are committed to using the information from this report to continue to enhance our programs and procedures. We take seriously the recommendations listed and continue to work at every level to enhance our policies and practices to ensure an atmosphere that is safe, inclusive,  and welcoming for all! We acknowledge the brave survivors who have shared their stories.

We have have implemented significant policy and procedural changes, as well as consistent training opportunities, for students and staff, over the last year that foster a safe and supportive learning environment.
